Sony launches world’s lightest laptop ‘Vaio-X’

 Sony launches worlds lightest laptop Vaio X

Consumer electronics maker Sony today announced the launch of Vaio X, which the company claims to be the world’s lightest laptop.

The notebook weighs 1.5-1.6 lbs with standard battery, having size of 10.95 inch (W) x 0.55 inch (H) x 7.29 inch (D).

Sony Vaio X is powered with 2GHz Intel® Processor, Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 500, Intel® System Controller Hub US15W Chipset, Intel® High Definition Audio and 2GB DDR2 SDRAM.

The product comes with 11.1 inch Screen (1366 x 768 Resolution), QWERTY keyboard, 82 keys with 1.2mm stroke and 17mm pitch, Built-in MOTION EYE® camera-microphone and Electro-Static touch pad.

Further, Sony Vaio X also includes two USB ports, SD Slot, Fast Ethernet (RJ-45) Protocol, 10Base-T/100Base-TX/1000Base-T, WiFi Atheros 802.11b/g/n, Integrated Stereo A2DP Bluetooth® technology and built-in Verizon mobile wireless. The notebook consumes 38 watts power or less.

On Software front, Sony Vaio X comes with Genuine Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, Norton Internet Security 2009 (30-Day Trial), AOL 90-Day Risk Free Trial (new users only), Microsoft Works SE 9.0 (60-Day trial version of Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007).

Sony Vaio X, which is considered as a rival of Apple’s Macbook Air, starts at price range of US$ 1299.
