HTC Corporation (HTC), formerly High Tech Computer Corporation, has finally rolled out its Android-based smart-phone ‘HTC Tattoo’ in the country.
The newly launched gadget is the second handset in series of HTC Sense, a mobile experience which mainly revolves around three main basic principle viz. Make it Mine, Stay Close and Discover the Unexpected.
It should be noted that HTC Tattoo is the first phone by the company that can be customized from inside as well as from outside, i.e. from hardware to software.
HTC Tattoo comes with 2.8-inch TFT-LCD touch-sensitive screen with 240×320 QVGA resolution, 3.2 megapixel color camera, G-sensor, Digital Compass, FM Radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, and expandable microSD memory card (SD 2.0 compatible) slot. The device has 4-Way navigation control with Enter button.
Apart from this, the smartphone provide tons of connectivity options, which includes Bluetooth 2.0 with Enhanced Data Rate and A2DP for wireless stereo headsets, Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 b/g and HTC ExtUSB (11-pin mini-USB 2.0).
HTC Tatto offer supports for various type of audio formats viz. MP3, AAC (AAC, AAC+, AAC-LC), AMR-NB, WAV, MIDI and Windows Media Audio 9, while Video supported formats includes MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 and Windows Media Video 9.
The handset is powered with rechargeable Lithium-ion battery (1100 mAh), which offer talk time of up to 390 minutes and standby time of up to 520 hours.
HTC Tattoo comes at a price tag of Rs 18,400 in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, while it is available at a price of Rs 16,990 for rest of India.
Recently, Vodafone Essar has announced an exclusive offer for its customers. The company stated in an advertisement, that any Vodafone subscriber, who will buy an HTC Tattoo phone, will get an exclusive offer to surf the web and download 20MB of data per month free of cost, for first 3 months. The offer will remain valid till 31 January, 2010.
