Hyderabad-headquartered Aurobindo Pharma, inaugurated its formulations manufacturing facility (Unit VII) in Hyderabad, India on Friday, 20th November, 2009.
The facility situated at APIIC Green Industrial Park, Jadcherla near Hyderabad, India is Aurobindo’s fifteenth manufacturing facility globally.
Present at the inauguration, were the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. K Rosaiah and the President & General Manager of Pfizer Established Products Business Unit, Mr. David Simmons amongst others.
This facility would cater to high value non-betallactum products for regulated markets and will further enhance Aurobindo’s capabilities in providing comprehensive pharrna manufacturing, distribution, services and solutions to its customers including global alliances.
This facility currently employs 200 people and expects to significantly expand its work force in India over time. The scheduled commencement of commercial operations is April 2010.
Aurobindo has invested approximately Rs 150 crore in setting up this large manufacturing plant constructed within a secure area of 30 hectares of land, which will support the growing demand for generic pharmaceutical products from supply contracts and exports globally.
